Technology & Textiles: Assisting Prevention through Technical Garments

During this brainstorming workshop, participants will examine technically enhanced garments, accessories and jewelry to determine how fashionable technology can be used as a vehicle for assisting breast cancer prevention and redesigning a better mammography experience. In particular, the workshop will focus on themes such as body perception, implications for design, technical possibilities for prevention, the lack of aesthetics in health care, and “smart” textiles. The workshop is part of GE’s healthymagination.
