Nexus between Silicon and Style™

founded by Sabine Seymour.

MOONDIAL is a think tank and boutique consultancy exploring the intersection of sensors, data, and the body. We make apparel a data platform and regard technology as fashion's new accessory.

Since 2007 in Austria. From 1998 - 2019 also in New York.

We consult and develop concepts and the adjacent branding strategy to convey complex technical products to end users for our B2B clients. We worked on sensorized automobile car seats, conductive yarns, wearable soundscapes, fashiontech kits, and wearable sports tech for clients like Intel, Johnson Controls, DuPont, Siemens, General Electric, BMW.

We conduct research projects including movement analysis for freestyle skiing, security clothing for the UN, and biometric or base layers for backcountry snowboarding. We received funding from FFG Austrian Research Promotion Agency and sponsors like DuPont, Palm and exhibit at conferences like International Symposium for Wearable Computing.

We used to develop prototypes for our B2B clients like Intel, DuPont, VFC (North Face) and produced products like SUN (photochromic t-shirts) with fashion label Wendy & Jim and ADWEAR (wearable advertising) with technology by Philipps Lumalive with startup funding by AWS impulse.

The Verge featured us in their Future is Now video sponsored by Intel and filmed at our labs at Eyebeam's first location in a warehouse in Chelsea and at Parsons School of Design in 2014. In 2016 T Brand Studio by the New York Times featured us in PC Does What sponsored by Dell, HP, Intel, and Lenovo filmed in our office at NewInc in New York.
